The Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Festival) in an importan holiday celebrated in China. It is a lunar holiday, occurring on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.

This festival is held to honor the memory of the great Chinese poet Qu Yuan. When the capital of his kingdom had fallen into enemy hands, he felt so much pain and sadness that went into the river. People in dragon-shaped boats tried to rescue him. Also, people threw rice into the river so that the fish will not eat him.

So, that day is celebrated with the boat race in the shape of dragons. Competing teams row their boats forward to a drumbeat racing to reach the finish end first. And people eat zongzi, a typical food prepared with rice.
Charizard and their friends are the starrings of this festival The Big Chinese Dragon.
