Class 5. Friday 27/10

Hello!  How´re you?

Today we´ve listened to your projects about your favourite sports and hobbies. You were great!
Esecially the projects written in the blog and in Power Point were super!

So, in our Olympic Games for the projects you all get 10 points.

You still have the chance to get extra points from the previous blog entry.

We watched a short video about popular sports in Britain.
What sports are popular in Britain? What unusual sports do British play?
Here´s a link for this video: Sports in Britain. Watch it again and compare with Spain.

We listened to Claudia and her Dragon and their week together! Next lucky student is Iratxe!

We finished with our topic and started a new one:
"What do you study?"
Where can you study? - At primary school, at secondary school, at the library, at the University etc.

We learnt different subjects you can study at school:
Maths, Science, Foreign Language, English, History, Physics, Chemistry, Art, Music, P.E. etc.

What´s you favourite subject at school? Why do you like it?

We have a lot of plans for this trimestre and you have to start thinking about preparing some things:

1. Next class 31st we have a Halloween class. But it´s an unusual class - Flipped Class. It means that you will teach younger children different activities in English. We dedicate this class to our favourite holiday - Halloween! Your task is to prepare an activity you´ll teach other children in English, related to Halloween topic.

2. At the end of the trimestre we´re planning to organise a kind of "cuenta cuentos" in English, called "Toy Story". The main hero will be our DRAGON. Choose one toy or doll that will take part in our stoy and think about a story: What´s it about? What are the adventures? It´s a long-term task, but let´s start planning already.

You´ve got a lot of things to prepare! Good luck!

My favourite sport (MARCO)

Hello I´m Marco. My favourite sport is Judo. I do it in my gim school. I need a special white combat drees and belt.
I go to Judo two days a week, monday and wednesday, at quarter past four till quarter past five. The class last an hour.
There are fifteen people in my class. I play Judo with Javier.
My teacher is Javier Blanco. He´s a good teacher and he´s forty nine years old. He has won many competitions.
I´m a good player. I have won many gold medals.
I like playing Judo much. I learn Judo because I can defend myself.

Alberto - Handball.

My favourite sport is handball.

Handball is a team sport, with two teams of seven players each. We have to pass a ball to throw it into the goal of the other team.

I train in the school, its name is Juan de Austria, two days in the week. We play the match on Saturday.

I began to play at eight years old. I'm a good player because i'm left handed. I like to play better, training all the days if it is posible.

Miguel was my coach last year. Here it is.

I like playing handball because is funny, fast, exciting, amazing...

In may, we play the handball spirit, in Alcobendas. We are the champions and our picture came out in the newspapers.

Handball spirit - Championship. Newspapers

Class 4. Friday 17/10

Hello!

Today we learnt some useful grammar:
I like/love/hate playing football. (Gerund)
I like/love/hate to play football. (Infinitive) (these sentences mean the same)

BUT:
I´m good at playing the guitar.
I´m bad at speaking French. (after these phrases - Gerund ONLY).

We listened to Roberto´s hobbies and sports and interviewed our parnters:
I love playing volleyball, but my partner loves playing football etc.

We also did a very fun sports quiz. You needed some general knowledge and English to answer the quesions. You did it very well. Here´re our Olympic Games results:
Player 1 - 10 points
Player 2 - 13 points
Player 3 - 10 points
Player 4 -  points
Player 5 - 10 points
Player 6 - 13 points
Player 7 - 13 points

 Well done!

Today we also listened to Alberto´s project - his week with our DRAGON:
His name is Charizard. He´s 9 years old and lives in Polvoranca park. He likes to eat fish.
Alberto has written a short profile of the dragon, that we´ll have on our stand.
Here´s a photo of Alberto and a dragon:

Next lucky student is CLAUDIA. The task is the same - spend a week with a dragon and prepare a short story about it.
(Prepare a project in advance, take photos, draw a picture, write a short story etc.)

Your homework is to prepare a project "My favourite sport or hobby". But this time you have to post them in the blog as a seperate entry. There you can post pictures, photos, video or Internet links. Then at the class we´ll vote for the most interesting project.
Remember that apart from writing it in the blog you have to speak about your sport/hobby in the class (NOT to read it!) .

Here´re some questions that will help you to plan your project:
What´s your favourite sport/hobby?
Where do you play/do it?
How often do you play/do it?
What equipment do you need for it?
How many people play/do it?
What do you wear for it? (if there´re any special clothes)
When did you start playing/doing it?
Are you good/bad at it? Would you like to learn to do it?
What is the aim (objetivo) of the game/sport?

Why do you like it?

Good luck!

We also did some listening and played some a Bomb game. It was fun!

Today we had a great surprise! A new friend appeared at our class! This is a DRAGON!
First, we have to create a profile for him (name, age, place of living, firends, his favourite food etc.). So, think at home about this.
The first lucky student to take a dragon home is ALBERTO. The task is to spend a week with a dragon and then make a small presentation about hobbies and sports that your dragon did during this week.
You can take pictures of him or write a short story!

Your homework is to do the task in the copy and create a dragon´s profile.

Our rubric "I´d like to know". Wirte in the blog 3 questions for me about my sports and hobbies. Don´t repeat the questions!
