Class 2. Friday 16/01

Hello
How´re you?

We learnt some new expressions on our topic "Jobs":
(to wear a uniform; to work shifts; to work 9 to 5; to work outdoors/indoors, in the office, hospital, school etc; to work with one´s hands, computer, children, on TV etc).

To ask about somebody´s job we say:

What does he do? - He is a mechanic.
What does she do? - She is a nurse.
What do you do? - I´m a teacher.

Also we played a Gussing Game where we aksed questions about smb´s job:
Do you work in the office? - Yes, I do.
Do you wear a uniform? - No, I don´t.
Do you work shifts? - No, I don´t. I work 9 to 5.
Do you work with the computer? - Yes, I do.
Are you a secretary? - Yes, I am.

We got some points for our Olympic games:

Player 1 - 3 points
Player 2 - 3 points
Player 3 - 4 points
Player 4 - 4 points
Player 5 - 5 points
Player 6 - 4 points

Our behaviour points: almost everybody got 5 points and there´re two students who got 4 and 3 points. Please, control your behaviour!

Watch two videos and answer the questions:
Video 1 - Jobs Video
What was granny´s job?
What will Janny be when she grows up?

Video 2 - What will I be when I grow up
What jobs do the people in your family do?
Why don't you interview a member of your family about their job and then tell us all about it? Here are some questions you could ask them:
  • Where do you work?
  • What do you do?
  • What time do you start and finish?
  • Do you have to wear a uniform?
  • What do you like about your job?
  • What don't you like about your job?
This trimester our Dragon is going to travel a lot. Choose  country where our Dragon travelled and prepare a presentation:

1. Country
2. Capital
3. Famous places and monuments
4. Typical food
5. Language
6. Other interesting traditions
Bring photos, pictures, videos with the places. Make it interesting!
This week Javier is "travelling" to another country with the Dragon!

Your homework: choose a job you like, write 10 sentences to describe it, use new words and expressions we learnt, find a photo or a picture of this profession. Prepare a presentation!
